Largest-ever fair concludes with success

The largest-ever China Import and Export Fair, the 133rd, came to a close on Friday, with global buyers leaving not only with orders and partnerships, but also with trust in China’s economy and excitement about sharing opportunities with China.

The event, also known as Canton Fair, showcased the resilience and agility of China’s foreign trade, manufacturing expertise and economic growth. Exhibitors have taken the initiative to closely follow the demands of the global market, showcasing high-quality products with unique designs.

Guangzhou city

Luckysky Industry Group, a bag producer based in Guangzhou, displayed their latest products made from recyclable, mold-resistant and anti-bacterial materials.

“The results achieved at this session of Canton Fair have greatly exceeded our expectations,” said an executive of the company surnamed Dai. “So far, we have received tentative orders worth over 50 million yuan ($7.24 million) from buyers from regions including Europe, the United States and Southeast Asia.”

The clothing exhibition area is known for showcasing individuality and the latest fashion trends. Guangdong Rongyuan International Trade’s booth was beautifully decorated to represent the four seasons, earning positive feedback from both domestic and foreign buyers.

“During this fair, we have been engaged in negotiations with more than 150 foreign buyers from regions such as Europe and the Middle East. We have also established long-term partnerships with companies including Dubai’s Lulu Group, Mexico’s Coppel, the US-based Youngla and Israel’s FILA. The initial transaction amount for these partnerships has exceeded $700,000,” said a representative of Rongyuan International.

The company invests a lot of manpower in developing their products and has an independent design team. “Our products are highly competitive in terms of quality, style and comfort. We have confidence in our products,” the representative added.

Zhejiang province

This year, Zhejiang Chemicals Import and Export Corporation added a Spanish-speaking salesperson to their team. On the first day of the third phase of the fair, the salesperson successfully established relationships with buyers from Haiti and Mexico. The use of the Spanish language effectively helped to bridge the communication gap and led to both parties expressing interest in jointly exploring the Latin American market.

A staff member of the company said: “We had set a goal to increase our market share in the Caribbean and South American regions prior to this session of Canton Fair. We were able to reach initial pricing agreements with customers from Dubai and will continue our cooperation.”

As a frequent participant of Canton Fair, leisure products provider Sunnyfeel brought something new to this fair’s exhibition. They showcased a range of new products, including small, lightweight and multifunctional outdoor camping gear.

A representative of the company said that an Israeli buyer had visited their company prior to the fair and confirmed orders during the event. They also have a large customer base in Japan, South Korea, Europe, South America, the Middle East and Australia.

Tibet autonomous region

More than 40 companies from the trade delegation of the Tibet autonomous region actively participated in business discussions during this session of Canton Fair and took advantage of the vast business opportunities presented.

They are pleased with the fruitful results of their trip. This session of Canton Fair had the highest number of exhibiting companies and personnel from Tibet, resulting in signed orders worth $3.2 million by the end of phase three.

The stone pot products from Zaoore based in Tibet won the Silver Award at the 132nd Canton Fair Design Award and gained many fans when exhibited at the fair. Mozyr Dairy Products from Belarus, as well as buyers from Mongolia and Malaysia, all showed interest in unique Tibetan products such as baby formula made from yak milk.

Jiangsu province

At the fair, foreign trade enterprises not only expand their customer base, but also quickly adapt to market changes. Due to fierce competition, more and more companies prioritize innovation to enhance their products’ value.

In recent years, Jiangsu Hengshun Group has diversified its product range, transitioning from traditional seasoning foods to green health products. During the third phase of the fair, the group attracted over 100 buyers from Europe, the US, Japan, South Korea and other regions.

Jiangsu Soho Holdings Group is expanding its businesses through innovations such as the “fabric library”. Hodo Group has optimized the layout of its overseas production lines and transformed its domestic factories for automation and intelligent operation.

Tianjin municipality

In the carpet and rug exhibition zone, a significant portion was occupied by enterprises from the Tianjin Wuqing Carpet Base, which is a national base for foreign trade transformation and upgrading. These companies have demonstrated the advantages of Tianjin’s high-quality carpet industry cluster, capturing the attention of many international buyers.

According to preliminary statistics, during the first three days of the third phase of the fair, Tianjin’s carpet companies signed more than a dozen orders, with a total tentative transaction amount exceeding $4 million. They interacted with over 100 buyers from regions and countries such as Europe, the US, Japan, the Middle East and Oceania.

A representative of the Tianjin Trade Delegation said: “At this Canton Fair session, global buyers can not only view a diverse range of quality carpets but can also access a wide array of products across the entire carpet industry chain in Wuqing, Tianjin. The one-stop shopping experience fully highlights Wuqing’s remarkable strength in the carpet industry.”

Starting from the 123rd session of Canton Fair, with strong support from the organizing committee, the Tianjin Trade Delegation has established a dedicated area for Tianjin carpets, leveraging its cluster advantages to explore international markets as a group. Through these efforts, the Tianjin Wuqing carpet brand has become stronger, making it the first choice for many professional buyers, according to the representative.
